Liverpool South Anglican Church

At Liverpool South Anglican...

We believe in one eternal God who is sovereign and has created all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that each one of us has sinned and fall short of God’s standard.

We believe that Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.

We believe that Salvation is a gift from God to us. We can never make up for sin by self-improvement or good works. To receive forgiveness, we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.

We believe the Bible is God’s word. It is authoritative, accurate and the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

We believe in the resurrection, that Jesus will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Sunday Services

Two services are held each Sunday; English Family Service (with Kids Church) at 9.30am, Urdu/Hindi service 12:00pm. The 9:30am morning service is largely attended by adults and families from multi-cultural backgrounds and the mid-day service is a Pakistani Service. Two Refugee families from our congregation run this and invite their family and friends so they can have sound biblical teaching.

ACTIVITIES

MINISTRIES

Home Groups Home Groups
We have a number of Home Groups that meet regularly on various nights of the week.

The aim of these groups is to study the Bible and it's relevance to us in a small group context. Additional aims are prayer and closer fellowship than would be possible through attendance at Sunday services alone.

Please contact us for more details.
Friendship and Craft Group Friendship and Craft Group

This weekly women's group, bring together a time of fellowship and craft over morning tea. This group is always looking forward to welcoming newer members into it's community as they learn the art of being creative in knitting.

Time: 11am to 1pm on Thursdays in the church hall
Children's Ministry Children's Ministry

We are serious about reaching kids in our area with the good news about Jesus Christ and teaching them to follow Him.

Sunday Kid's Church: We have a fantastic team of Sunday Kid's Church teachers and helpers that look after our children during the service at 9:30am.

School Scripture: A team of dedicated Scripture teachers teach Special Religious Education (SRE) classes in our local state primary schools every week.

All those who work with children have been approved with the Working With Children Check (WWCC) and are trained in Child Protection. We readily seek to comply with all government legislation in this area, as well as the policies of the Anglican Church.
Youth Ministry Youth Ministry

We have an active youth program in our parish. This Youth Group is for young people of high school age (11-18 years). It meets on Sunday evenings at 3:30-5:00pm. The regular program includes Bible teachings, songs, prayers, games and food.
Occasional Services Occasional Services

It is a privilege for us to be part of significant days in the lives of the people who live in our area, whether they be happy occasions (weddings and baptisms/dedications), or sad occasions (funerals).

We are happy to help with these events if we can, by holding these services in our church building and presenting the Christian message at the occasion.
Men's and Women's Ministries Men's and Women's Ministries

These two ministries conduct breakfast or dinner meetings throughout the year. Our members also participate in the inter-denominational men's or women's conferences held in various locations during the year. You are welcome to join us at any of these meetings.
Anglicare Mobile Community Pantry Anglicare Mobile Community Pantry

The Mobile Community Pantry (MCP) provides grocery items at low cost to help support lower income families.

Ministry to Asylum Seekers Ministry to Asylum Seekers

We meet and care for the social, emotional, spiritual and material needs of the asylum seekers who have been integrated into our community.

We witness to the love of Christ as we help them to become established into the community. This is a unique opportunity, as apart from the Red Cross & the Settlement Services International (SSI), we are the only other support network they have.
English as a Second Language (ESL) ESL

We run an ESL class on Tuesday mornings from 10:00-12:00. It is taught at two levels: beginners and Intermediate. We have on average 6-8 learners in each group. This has been ongoing for the past 9 years. A few Spanish speaking and Chinese families have joined our congregation.
